![]() If that doesn't show you any updates, run: Update them from Software Update in System Preferences or run: Please update your Command Line Tools (CLT) or delete it if no updates are available. The error message was: jeffs-mbp:~ jeff$ brew upgradeĪlready downloaded: /Users/jeff/Library/Caches/Homebrew/downloads/2de1b0c5d5234a1301d4f37d98ad0977a2706d02692e7131fb662b5af4d1c999-yarn-v1.22.10.tar.gzĮrror: Your Command Line Tools (CLT) does not support macOS 11. Thankfully yarn isn't one of the dependencies required for what I am doing, so I didn't really look too much into it. I did, and got a very weird error message when trying to update yarn. The final step said to run the command brew update & brew upgrade. I already had homebrew installed, and was able to install all the required dependencies without any issues. I followed the docs to set up my build environment (to be honest, I am still very new to programming and do not know what a "build environment" really is). ![]() It seemed like the perfect solution for me! Not only does this provide me with exactly the type of app I wanted, but since I have also been studying programming for a little over a year now, this looked like it would provide an educational experience too. Thankfully they offered a workaround to this. I was looking through the FAQ on the KeePassXC website and noticed that the app requires network access, which was unfortunate because the only reason I wanted to use keepass in the first place was to keep everything 100% offline. There are other Mac apps, but from what I saw they have not been updated for quite a while (Strongbox was the only good alternative, but some of the features I wanted were only available on its paid version). Since I am on a Mac, KeePassXC appeared to be the best app to manage my database. ![]() I didn't feel comfortable uploading my passwords to a third party service, so I did some research and was excited to discover KeePass! Everything is saved locally, and there is absolutely no need to send sensitive passwords over the internet. I have been neglecting to use a password manager for too long, and decided it was finally time to get things organized. Though, If you do happen to know exactly how to fix this issue, any help would be greatly appreciated!įor reference, I am using a MacBook Pro with an intel processor, running BigSur 11.2.3 My only reason for posting this is to document my experience in case anyone else has a similar issue, or in case any developers would like to look into this further. Failed, giving up, and just going to install like a normal person. TL DR - Followed the docs to try installing KeePassXC without "network access" code.
